A Lancaster dining institution needed a no-fuss, easy-to-navigate website that included custom design and integration to keep their menu as fresh as their food.
In order to maintain the menu on the website, Pennant integrated the Single Platform API with the menu areas and pages.
Scope of Work
Pennant was honored to receive the commission to design the Horse Inn site. It was a seamless collaboration thanks to co-owner Starla Russell.
Horse Inn has a rich history, having been established in 1920. In 2015 new ownership needed to refresh the establishment, which included a new website.
A restaurant website is straightforward in its purpose: post the essential information, such as hours of operation, location, and current menu. However, to provide context, we extended the theme of the restaurant’s physical space, which was at one time a horse stable, to the website design which meant using lots of texture, pattern, and earth tones.
One of the most significant features of this site was the custom programming completed to optimize the menu. Horse Inn uses the Single Platform service to unify their menus across various web applications. This ‘behind the scenes’ custom work allowed the menu to appear and update as needed.
