Episode 3 – The Dreamer and The Designer

Dana: Welcome everyone to the Dreamer and the Designer. I’m Dana, the dreamer…
Chris: …And I’m Chris the designer
Dana: …and today we just want to continue to tell you about who we are as people and as a company. So, Chris my first question is for you. In your mind, what is the greatest challenge that is facing the world of web development today?
Chris: Yeah, I would say that there’s three things that jump to my mind. In the US it’s Net Neutrality, following that would be general accessibility for people with handicapped, people who say have vision impairment. The third which I’m going to speak a little bit more on is the security of the web overall. I think as an existential thing, security has got to be front of mind for web developers both the front end, back end, and people creating the web applications. We’ve all heard the news it seems to be every week there’s a data breach. This sort of stuff is very important we are entrusted with users information
Dana: Yah, that just like terrifies me to think about.
Chris: I would say that every American has been affected by it even if you don’t know it.
Dana: well you’re turning me into a paranoid polly! Ahhhh subject change.
Chris: What question am I asking you? Recipe for a dream? Alright so Dana, if you had to come up with a recipe for your dream, what would it be?
Dana: Oh, well. A recipe for a dream–obviously it varies depending on who you are as a person but for me I would say that the most important part of dreaming is passion. I think the other part of it is hope and being able to know and hold out hope for the betterment and I definitely think that’s my social work side coming through. If I can’t hold out hope for the world or for the community or for my family I don’t know why I’m doing it, and it’s also gotta scare me a little bit. I think that you should be doing things that push the envelope, that stretch you– so yeah! It’s gotta be a little terrifying! That’s my recipe. OH! The most important thing– flair! A sprinkling of flair… I try to leave that wherever I roam.
